How a Chance Encounter Sparked a Thriving Community of Furniture Painters
Life has a way of surprising us, doesn't it?
Just when you think you've got it all figured out, a twist of fate can lead you down a path you could never have predicted.....
As the saying goes, "You never know what's around the corner".
We've all felt that at some point in our lives - the tantalizing mix of excitement, uncertainty, and curiosity that comes with the anticipation of what lies ahead.
Whether what is around the corner turns out to be good, bad or indifferent, these are the moments that make up life's rich tapestry.
And so, when Kate Holt (of Colour Me KT) won a hard-fought argument with her husband to attend a Fusion Mineral Paint trade show in Canada (she lives in the UK), she could never have imagined how the experience would reshape her career. Or that she would form one of the most important and rewarding friendships of her life.
On a parallel journey was Sarah Pelley, a fellow UK-based Furniture Artist and owner of Home Revival Interiors. Two women, united by their passion for transforming furniture into works of art, were hurtling toward a serendipitous collision that would redefine their lives.
By the time they flew home, Sarah and Kate had started to forge a friendship that would soon inspire them to launch the only UK-based Furniture Painters trade show.
And that's how the Painters Business Academy Conference (PBA) was born.
Fast forward to today, and the PBA stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and inspiration, proudly claiming its place as the highlight of the artistic calendar.
Taking place on 1st -3rd September 2023 at the De Vere Horsley Estate, Surrey, the event unites experts from every corner of our industry, all working together to promote our art form and inspire YOU!
Kate eloquently sums it up,
"The PBA is all about different brands working together, rather than in competition".
The PBA conference is so much more than a trade show.
It's a living, breathing hub of creativity. With each passing year, its popularity continues to grow, attracting support from some fantastic sponsors and passionate artists alike.
